Legends win their opening game of the season against the St Joseph Saints. The offence was efficient and balanced all night, finding success on the ground and through the air. Two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns tell the story of an attack that stayed unpredictable, kept the chains moving, and put pressure on the Saints defence from start to finish. The offensive line deserves credit for creating the space that made it all possible.
Our defence set the tone. They were stout against the run, disciplined in coverage, and did not give up much of anything for the majority of the game. They also got in on the scoring, recovering a fumble and returning it for a major. When a defence can take the ball away and finish the play in the end zone, it changes the whole feel of a football game.
Special teams were excellent from the opening kickoff. Our field goal unit went a perfect three for three, and the coverage and return teams consistently gave us good field position.
A win like this is the result of the work our players put in through spring camp, the off-season, and training camp. Thank you to the families and fans who came out to support the Legends in the opener. One down, and plenty of football left to play. #beLegendary
